ANCIENT OCEAN

This piece was inspired by hikes I used to take
in the Monzano and Sandia mountains outside of Albuquerque, NM.
The long vistas of the high desert landscape
look like the bottom of the ocean–
and of course they once were.
The fan shape creates a feeling of both movement and stillness that I am using more and more in my work.
